We are starting with a casual table setting today! Then something more formal. Always think of the event, of the mood, of your party or dinner theme. Even your personal style. Do you tend to be a casual or a formal guy or gal? Think of who the party is for, a ten year old, someone graduating college or a grandparent?
This is very elegant casual. (above) Most times styles can be blended. The silver is the elegant addition, the herb on the napkin is gorgeous. Making the butter knife the place card is darling. So many ideas can be gathered as you read this blog and even my Beautiful Interiors Newsletter!
This is our formal tabletop. (below) The crystal chandelier sets the tone. The beautiful candlesticks on the table. The formal leather chairs and the stemware add to the formality.
The bouquets look they were cut from the back yard. The tablecloth looks casual, and loved – a family favorite. So this is elegant-toned-down- just- a-hair with the simple bouquets and the tablecloth. The tablecloth might be a flag or a sail, but it is not brocade which is definitely formal. Do you see how the blending happens? No one is complaining – nothing looks out of place. Of course if you are a matchy-matchy person, you may not like the three different bouquets. The burro on the tabletop is very personal and adds humor, whit. Always remember to do what you like. You have to be happy. There are a hundred million ways to do everything. To set a table anyway. Enjoy your entertaining!
